First beta relesased

Today the first beta of the Highslide Editor was released. The Editor is a visual interface for setting up and publishing your Highslide popups and galleries. It will not only make it much easier for non-coders to implement Highslide, but also make it a lot faster for experienced coders. Bugs can be reported in this forum.

Re: First beta relesased

I just had a look at the Highslide Editor.... cause I struggled with implementing highslide in a special style I needed.

The Editor is great work, I love it.

I tried out starting to make a "Apple styled" box.
- "No border, simple close button"
- Html (Flash)
- Setting up rounded corners and a border color of #202020
- Drop Shadow

It looks good so far, but what I am missing is a possibility to set the position of the Mac styled "Close Button" not only "left or right", but also adjusting the position in pixel, cause if applying a bigger border, the "close button" won't fit anymore.

It also seems there is no possibility to change the color of the "background" in Html/flash. If setting border to black color there is still a white "frame" around the flashcontent. Also if closing the flash-highslide a white surface is showing up.
In IE6 there is also a bigger white "header" bar.

HTML Controls settings for Icons only doesn't seem to work.
I'm unable to set an "move" Icon for the flashcontent. Otherwise it would be good to have a settings for "draggable header", "draggable footer" or "draggable border".

I think some kind of "combination" of different features would be good.

I miss a setting for "Group Names"

The "Mac styled" Close Button don't apply in IE6

Something I would like to know:

- How are the rounded corners and dropshadow made? Are these still the "outlines" from the "graphics" folder?
- Would it be possible to add custom graphics?
- What is the "editor.config.js" ?

Features I would like to have are:

- Combination of the Animation e.g. "easing in" and "fading out" - Would be good for Flash content, cause the highslide is always closing faster thant the flash.

-Settings/includings for FLV videos with JW-Player or the NonverBlaster Player

Re: First beta relesased

Thanks for testing the Editor!

@no64:
I'll go through your bug reports and feature requests in detail after the weekend.
- How are the rounded corners and dropshadow made? Are these still the "outlines" from the "graphics" folder?
Yes they are. Your new outline is stored as custom.png.
- Would it be possible to add custom graphics?
When you use the Editor you always create a custom outline PNG. To edit design elements not covered by the Editor, you'll have to use CSS.
- What is the "editor.config.js" ?
It is the configuration settings for the Highslide Editor. For now you can't use it for anything, but in the future I'll probably add a feature where you can load a config file into the Editor, for example when you want to upgrade or do minor changes to your setup.

Re: First beta relesased

Hi,
I tried to access the new highslide editor, but with no luck. I just got the page, but not the interface. Javascript is enabled, and I am using IE7 as well as Firefox 3.
Hope you have an answer.
Regards,
Jim

Re: First beta relesased

genius !!!!!

i think this is a great tool for both experienced and new java script user.
Often newbies are forgotten when dealing with java script libraries.
Scriptaculous / Prototype for example, is a great and powerful library but a nightmare for newbies.
Mootools does already a better job as well as jquery.

But this editor is just a blessing. You can see right way with just a few click how it will look, and when satisfied you just need to copy/paste all the necessary code.

I'm not sure if there is somewhere an award given for such tool.

again GREAT WORK, and thank you for developing all this.

cheers

Re: First beta released

Hi,
Still have no luck getting it to work. When the page loads there is a statement at the bottom in red that says..."The Highslide Editor requires that you enable JavaScript and use a modern browser.
If this text is still visible after the page finished loading, check the requirements. " I would imagine that this replaces the green GO button.
Also at the bottom of IE and Firefox, there is a notification of 4 javascript errors "missing } after function body
[Break on this error] Ext.DomHelper=function(){var n=null;var ...items)},getSelected:function(){return th
ext-all.js (line 9)
sp is undefined
[Break on this error] Ext={version:"2.2.1"};window["undefined"...)}window.attachEvent("onunload",a)}})();
ext-jque...dapter.js (line 1)
Ext.state.Manager is undefined
[Break on this error] Ext.state.Manager.setProvider(new Ext.state.CookieProvider());
HTML.js (line 1121)
Ext.onReady is not a function
[Break on this error] Ext.onReady(function(){"

I have Highslide installed on my web site and can see the effects fine, so javascript is certainly enabled. I have also disconnected my software firewall, but the problem persists.
Hope you may have an idea.
Regards,
Jim
