Please help! I'm a newbie, and I'm stuck?

I want to be able to hover over a text link on my dreamweaver site to open up a document or image in preview, just as in your samples. I've uploaded my image and a document, copied the published codes to my webpage, but all I get is either a blank page or a non-functional copy of your template. I've tried uploading it through zip, but again nothing is working. I already have my website complete, but wanted to add these great features to speed my site up. Please help?
