Dynamic resizing of popups

I've noticed the popup remains the same size when flipping a smartphone from portrait to landscape viewing, so in searching the forums for a solution, I came across this topic in which Torstein mentions to resize to a new viewport, check out http://highslide.com/studies/window-resize.html. I looked at this page, but when testing it with Chrome, the popups don't resize dynamically when reducing the size of the browser window. They only respond to the viewport dimensions when they're first triggered. Is there a way to dynamically resize the popups?

There is, but you're not going to like it. Trust me.

The effect is, shall we say, distracting. The underlying script just isn't built to do this.

Highslide JS is long overdue for a major rewrite, but there's virtually no chance it's going to get one. Very sad.

Yikes!

Such a shame ... this is still the most sophisticated and feature-rich image viewer out there. Nothing else I've found comes close. But now the client has got their mobile-friendly site layout, their attention has switched to how Highslide is not up to the job on these devices and I'm probably going to have to ditch it and go with a much less elegant solution which will mean implementing buttons to trigger separate fit-to-screen and full size images and adding a whole load extra code to every entry in the database. Ho hum ...
