Combining Highslide Elements

Postby HarryL » Thu Mar 08, 2012 10:10 pm

IÔÇÖm trying set up a YouTube pop up with the video sized at 640w x 380h, like Road Rash has on here demo site here:

Open YouTube in HTML

http://www.roadrash.no/hs-support/examp ... elink.html

I want use the YouTube page url like you have in this example:

Use the YouTube page as url instead of the url from the embed code

http://jsfiddle.net/tGksp/3/

With text in the heading like you have here:

HTML (iframe) with innerHTML as text in the heading

http://www.roadrash.no/hs-support/ifram ... title.html

With the black close button on the edge of the window like you have it here:

2 HTML (iframe) with different close buttons

http://www.roadrash.no/hs-support/examp ... ttons.html

Could I trouble you for the code to do that with? I had the resize on the pop up working, until I tried to switch to the URL and now it keeps going to the full window, so I can't even get to the title and close button part.

Really appreciate any help you can be.

Thanks,

Harry

Hi Harry,

The first demo you've found - http://www.roadrash.no/hs-support/examp ... elink.html - contained old code/markup. This is corrected now.
The second demo youÔÇÖve found was based on the same old code as the first demo.

HereÔÇÖs a demo based on the new code for opening a YouTube video in Highslide with innerHTML as title in the heading + black close button: http://jsfiddle.net/roadrash/FtDYv/1/

Thanks as always, RoadRash.

We're also using a video pop up with the following code. Which parts of what you sent would we need to use if we just wanted to be able to use the regular YouTube URL with the following approach?

Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/v/YilhBfZanxg?rel=0&autoplay=1"=en&fs=1"amp;wmode=transparent"
      onclick="return hs.htmlExpand(this, {objectType: 'iframe', width: 640,  height: 380, allowSizeReduction: false, wrapperClassName: 'draggable-header no-footer',
      preserveContent: false, objectLoadTime: 'after'})"
        class="highslide-center">
    Watch</a>

Thanks,

Harry

The jsFiddle I posted in my previous post was missing one line of code (the objectLoadTime line). This jsFiddle is correct: http://jsfiddle.net/roadrash/FtDYv/1/

You need this in the href: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v= +the YouTube ID - in your case YilhBfZanxg
The markup for the link should then look like this:
Code: Select all
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YilhBfZanxg"
        class="highslide" onclick="return openYouTube(this)" title="Movie Title">
    Movie Title
</a>

You need the extra CSS in the upper right frame in the jsFiddle page, and you need the Highslide settings from the bottom left jsFiddle frame.

Thanks.

One last thing on this. How do I remove the title that appears in the upper left hand corner of the video?

I removed the " title="Movie Title" from the link, but that wasn't it...:-)

Thanks,

Harry

The title is picked from the innerHTML (the link text) ÔÇô as you asked for in your first post:
HarryL wrote:With text in the heading like you have here:

HTML (iframe) with innerHTML as text in the heading

http://www.roadrash.no/hs-support/ifram ... title.html

Remove this line if you donÔÇÖt want to use it:
Code: Select all
headingEval: 'this.a.innerHTML',
