Highcharts indexable by Google?

Postby bunner bob » Thu Feb 23, 2012 4:44 am

I'm working on a charting project for a client who needs a charting solution that is indexable by Google. Is Highcharts? I don't see how it could be since it uses javascript, which Google's spiders do not.

Is there a charting solution that is indexable? Or would we need to create a second set of data for Google to digest?

Any thoughts or suggestions greatly appreciated!

I'm not sure what kind of data you have. I suppose that you don't want to index just numbers but rather categories or other text strings, etc. How about rendering chart from the html table: http://highcharts.com/demo/column-parsed?

That makes sense, and we gave it some thought. We realized though that the data itself isn't really meaningful to Google. As long as we have our charts well labeled (outside of javascript) and Google can detect that there is some content there (which is a bit more uncertain) we think we will get some value out of it. And it will definitely be useful to users, so at least there is that.
