Donut rendering problems in ie7 and ie8

Postby oeN » Tue Feb 14, 2012 8:29 pm

I've created a sample html that show serious donut rendering problems in IE7/8. After loading the chart in the browser just to F5(refresh), F5(refresh), F5(refresh), etc... and you will see problems rendering donut chart. As you can see the color don't appear correctly during rendering and some times inside the donut colors are displayed when should be transparent.
After rendering everything appear to be ok.

Here is a sample:

Code: Select all

      <script type="text/javascript" src="http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.4.2/jquery.min.js"></script>
      <script type="text/javascript" src="js/highcharts.js"></script>

      <!-- 2. Add the JavaScript to initialize the chart on document ready -->
      <script type="text/javascript">
         var data = [{
                     name: 'teste5',
                     color: '#6C7379',
                     y: 40000

                  }];

         $(document).ready(function() {
            new Highcharts.Chart({
               chart: {
                  renderTo: 'container',
                  defaultSeriesType: 'pie'
               },
               title: {
                  text: null
               },
               legend: {
                  enabled:false
               },
               series: [{
                  data: data, "innerSize":"40%"
               }],
               credits: {
                  enabled: false
               }
            });
         });

      </script>
   </head>
   <body>
      <div id="container" style="width: 500px; height: 500px; margin: 0 auto"></div>

I didn't check your examples in IE's, but did you try to set animation to false? http://www.highcharts.com/ref/#chart--animation

Turning off the animation is not a solution. The company where i'm working bought an Highcharts licence and one of the key factors for choosing highcharts was the animation. So turninng off animation is not a solution.
